Independence Missouri Home of President Truman

Here is a photo of the home of President Harry S. Truman in Independence Missouri:

President Truman served as the 33rd President of the United States from 1945-1953. He was a native of Independence MO, and grew up here. And for 12 years, he did quite well as a Missouri farmer. It wasn’t until he went to fight in World War I that he left the community.

After deciding to not run for another term after his presidency, he retired back to Independence MO, where he remained until he died in 1972.
